Medical Treatment

Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses drugs to kill cancer cells, stop them from spreading and/or relieve pain or other symptoms caused by cancer. Chemotherapy can also be used to shrink a tumor before other treatments such as surgery or radiation therapy.

Radiation Therapy
Radiation Oncologists specialize in treating all types of cancer using high energy rays or beams of radiation aimed directly at the tumor. These beams are produced by a machine called a linear accelerator. The linear accelerator is linked through a computer network to allow physicians and technologists to provide the most effective and accurate treatment.

Clinical Trial
With access to knowledgeable oncologists, The Cancer Center at Taylor Regional Hospital may refer you for participation in a clinical trial. A clinical trial offers the latest advances in cancer care.
